    Hi,

    I have my website with 3 languages:
    lorenzovecchia.com -> spanish
    lorenzovecchia.com/en -> english
    lorenzovecchia.com/it -> italian

    I have done all the seo steps and I have a good score. But when I go to the google search console, looks like that homepage in alternative languages is not present in google. (missing /en and /it directories in google)
    Home page is set to “index” but it’s not clear to me where to set the “index” for the alternative languages, since I can only edit the from the front-end and I can’t find this option. Can you please help me to check if “index” is set to alternative languages?

    thanks

  • Hello,

    We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s alternative language pages not appearing in Google Search Console. It sounds like you’ve done a great job with your SEO steps, but let’s clarify how to ensure that your alternative language homepages are indexed correctly.

    Setting Up Indexing for Alternative Languages

    1. Check Your Sitemap: Ensure that your sitemap includes the /en and /it versions of your homepage. You can find your sitemap at lorenzovecchia.com/sitemap_index.xml. If these pages are not included, they won’t be indexed by Google.

    2. Use hreflang Tags: Implementing hreflang tags is crucial for multilingual sites. These tags inform search engines about the language and regional targeting of your pages. Here’s an example of how to set it up:

      Make sure these tags are present in the “ section of each language version of your homepage.

    3. Check Robots.txt: Ensure that your robots.txt file is not blocking the /en and /it directories. You can check this by visiting lorenzovecchia.com/robots.txt.

    4. Google Search Console: In Google Search Console, you can request indexing for the /en and /it pages manually. Go to the URL Inspection tool, enter the URLs, and click on "Request Indexing" if they are not indexed yet.

    5. Monitor Performance: After making these changes, monitor the performance in Google Search Console to see if the pages start appearing.
