Conflict using /product/ url

    Dear Rank Math Support,

    Good morning,

    We are experiencing the following issue: During the development of our site, we had enabled the option to remove the base slug /product/, as we assumed it was not needed in the URLs. However, our client’s SEO specialist now wants this base included.

    After disabling the “remove base” option, the product pages stopped working. We have already tried saving the permalinks multiple times and flushing the rewrite rules, but the issue persists.

    I have attached a temporary login so you can test it yourself. Please note that this is a staging environment with backups in place, so feel free to make any changes necessary.

    We apologize for the issue you are facing with the product URLs on your site. It seems that after disabling the "remove base" option, the product pages are not functioning as expected. This can happen if there are internal redirection rules that need to be adjusted after changing the URL structure.

    To resolve this, we recommend checking the following:

    1. Disable Custom Product Redirection: If you have enabled the custom redirection for products, you may need to disable it. You can find more information on how to do this in our guide on disabling custom product redirection.
    2. Flush Permalinks: Although you mentioned that you’ve already tried this, ensure that you navigate to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress dashboard and click Save Changes without making any changes to flush the rewrite rules again.
    3. Check for Conflicting Plugins: Sometimes, other plugins can conflict with Rank Math. Temporarily disable other plugins to see if the issue persists.
    4. Review .htaccess File: Ensure that your .htaccess file is correctly configured for WordPress.

    We’ve checked your website and we can see even when the “Remove Base” option is disabled, your products are working properly without any issues. Please check the screencast in the sensitive data section for reference.

    However, we also temporarily disabled the Rank Math plugins, and we can see the /product/ base sitll not getting added to the product schema. In this case, it looks like the product URLs are not bing controlled by the Rank Math plugins.

    Excuse me turned out there was a product attribute called product.
