500 Internal Server Error when saving Elementor Pro pages with Rank Math active

#1105138
  • Hi Rank Math Team,

    I’m experiencing a conflict between Rank Math SEO and Elementor Pro on my WordPress.com Business site.

    With only Elementor/Elementor Pro active, I can edit and save pages normally.

    When I activate Rank Math SEO, saving any page in Elementor triggers a 500 Internal Server Error.

    This happens on all pages, not just one.

    Environment details:

    Hosting: WordPress.com Business Plan

    Elementor Pro: v3.32.1 (licensed and active)

    Rank Math SEO: [insert version number from Plugins list]

    PHP: 8.3.25

    PHP Memory Limit: 512M

    Troubleshooting already done:

    Tested with all plugins deactivated → only Rank Math SEO causes the issue.

    Cleared Elementor cache, updated Elementor Pro, re-checked license.

    Error persists across all pages.

    Could you please:

    Confirm if this is a known compatibility issue with Elementor Pro.

    Suggest a workaround (for example, disabling specific Rank Math modules like Schema, Instant Indexing, or Analytics).

    Review error logs or advise what specific debug info you’d like me to provide.

    Thank you for your help!

  • Hello,

    We apologize for the issue you are facing with the 500 Internal Server Error when saving Elementor Pro pages with Rank Math active. This can indeed be frustrating.

    Known Compatibility Issues

    While we are not aware of a specific compatibility issue between Rank Math and Elementor Pro, conflicts can arise due to various factors, including server configurations or other plugins.

    Suggested Workarounds

    Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Disable Specific Rank Math Modules: You can try disabling certain modules in Rank Math to see if that resolves the conflict. For example, you might want to disable the Schema module temporarily and check if the error persists.
    2. Check Server Logs: Reviewing your server logs can provide insights into what might be causing the 500 error. Look for any specific error messages that occur when you try to save a page in Elementor.
    3. Increase PHP Memory Limit: Although your PHP memory limit is set to 512M, sometimes increasing it further can help resolve such issues. You might want to consult with your hosting provider about this.
    4. Enable Debugging: You can enable WordPress debugging by adding the following lines to your wp-config.php file:
      define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
      define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
      define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );

      This will log errors to a debug.log file in your wp-content directory, which you can review for more details.

    Further Assistance

    If the issue persists after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket with any error logs or additional debug information you gather. A human agent from our support team will then be able to assist you further.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue!

    This is an automated reply from Rank Math Support Bot. Your ticket has been assigned to a human agent and we will get back to you shortly.

    Thank you for the suggestions. I’ve already tested plugin conflicts, and the issue only occurs when Rank Math is active with Elementor Pro. Could you please escalate this ticket to a human support agent so we can review error logs together?

    Hello,

    5xx errors are usually caused by server misconfiguration or other server issues.

    However, can you please share the website error log with us? Having the error log file will give a clear idea of why this might be happening.

    You can follow this guide to enable debugging in WordPress https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/ or you can get in touch with your web host, and they will help you locate the log file.

    Looking forward to helping you.
