  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your sitemap showing a 404 error and your pages not being indexed. This can happen for several reasons. Here are some common causes and solutions:

    1. Sitemap Not Created: Ensure that the Rank Math plugin is properly configured to generate a sitemap. You can check this in the Rank Math settings under the Sitemap settings.

    2. Incorrect URL: Double-check the URL you are using to access your sitemap. It should typically be something like yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml. If the URL is incorrect, it will lead to a 404 error.

    3. Server Configuration: Sometimes, server settings can prevent the sitemap from being accessed correctly. Make sure your web server is configured to allow access to the sitemap file. You may need to contact your hosting provider for assistance with this.

    4. Robots.txt Blocking: Check your robots.txt file to ensure that it is not blocking access to your sitemap or any of your pages. You can find this file in the root directory of your website.

    5. Caching Issues: If you have caching enabled on your site, clear the cache to ensure that the latest version of your sitemap is being served.

For more detailed troubleshooting steps, you can refer to our guide on fixing sitemap issues.
