I am getting this error “The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.” I have tried to resolve this error via your article and tickets but couldn’t. The page source doesn’t show any og:image tags.

I have done the following things to resolve the error.
    1) Disabled the cache system completely.
    2) Added opengraph image under the titles & Meta as you suggested in the article.
    3) Regenerated tables and cleared cache.
    4) Disablled all the plugins and used default theme.

    5) When i exported the data in CSV File, the ‘social_facebook_thumbnail’ columns was empty. the thumbnail urls were supposed to be there. How do i resolve this error.

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with the ‘og:image’ property. Thank you for detailing the steps you’ve already taken to resolve this error. It sounds like you’ve done quite a bit of troubleshooting already.

Since you’ve mentioned that the social_facebook_thumbnail column was empty when you exported the metadata, it indicates that the Open Graph image might not be set correctly in your Rank Math settings. Here are a few additional steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Check Open Graph Settings: Go to the Rank Math dashboard and ensure that the Open Graph settings are enabled. You can find this under Rank Math > General Settings > Social Meta. Make sure that the Open Graph meta tags are enabled for your posts and pages.

    2. Set Featured Image: Ensure that each post or page has a featured image set. Rank Math uses the featured image as the default Open Graph image if no specific image is set in the social settings.

    3. Manually Set og:image: For individual posts or pages, you can manually set the Open Graph image by editing the post/page and scrolling down to the Rank Math meta box. Under the Social tab, you can specify a custom image for Facebook.

    4. Check for Conflicts: Since you’ve disabled all plugins and switched to a default theme, ensure that there are no lingering issues with your WordPress installation or database. Sometimes, a fresh installation can help resolve hidden conflicts.

    5. Recheck Page Source: After making these changes, check the page source again (Right-click > View Page Source) to see if the og:image tag is now present and correctly populated.

    6. Use Facebook Debugger: Use the Facebook Sharing Debugger to scrape your URL again after making these changes. This tool can help identify any issues with how Facebook sees your Open Graph tags.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further. We appreciate your patience and look forward to helping you resolve this issue!

    Hello,

The og:image tag is missing in your site’s source code.

In this case, assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), this can be caused by a conflicting plugin/theme with Rank Math.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
