Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap not displaying the total number of posts on your website. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix this issue:
-
Flush Permalinks: Sometimes, flushing the permalinks can resolve sitemap issues. To do this, go to your WordPress admin area, navigate to Settings → Permalinks, and click the “Save Changes” button without making any changes.

-
Check Sitemap Settings: Ensure that you have enabled the correct post types in the Rank Math Sitemap settings. Go to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings and verify that all relevant post types are checked to be included in the sitemap.
-
Custom Canonicals: If you have set custom canonical URLs for your posts, those posts may not appear in the sitemap. Consider removing any custom canonicals to allow Rank Math to generate them automatically.
-
Check for Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can conflict with Rank Math. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify any potential conflicts.
-
Robots.txt File: Ensure that your robots.txt file is not blocking the sitemap. You can check this by going to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → robots.txt.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket with your website URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused.
The sitemap can be accessed via yourwebsite.com/sitemap_index.xml
.
Meanwhile, please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you.
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast: https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
3. If the above steps don’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter to your site.
add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
Here’s how you can add a filter/hook to your WordPress site:

Once done, clear your website cache and check the sitemap again.
Let us know how it goes. We look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
