Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your HTML sitemap showing a blank page. Since you’ve already performed extensive troubleshooting, it seems like there might be a deeper issue at play.
Here are a few additional steps you can try:
-
Check for PHP Errors: Enable debugging in your wp-config.php
file to see if there are any PHP errors being thrown that could help identify the issue. You can do this by adding the following lines:
define('WP_DEBUG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
After enabling this, check the wp-content/debug.log
file for any errors related to the sitemap.
-
Check Server Configuration: Sometimes server settings can interfere with how plugins operate. Ensure that your server meets the requirements for running Rank Math and that there are no restrictions on executing PHP scripts.
-
Review Shortcode Placement: Make sure that the shortcode is placed in a proper post or page editor and not in a widget or other unsupported area.
-
Permalinks: As a last resort, try flushing your permalinks again by going to Settings → Permalinks and clicking “Save Changes” without making any changes.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, we recommend replying to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can take a closer look at your specific setup and assist you further.
Thank you for your patience, and we hope to resolve this for you soon!

How to Create HTML Sitemap Using Rank Math » Rank Math
Hello,
Can you please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you?
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello Rakibuzzaman,
Thank you very much! Your first suggestion, flushing the sitemap cache by changing the number of links, worked perfectly. The problem is now solved.
You can mark this ticket as resolved.
Best regards.
I had the same issue and just resolved it by flushing and recreating the sitemap. It’s not something I regularly checked, so it would give me more confidence if I understood more about why it happened. Having to check it periodically is not the ideal remedy to me. Especially since the site is active with pages and posts added frequently.
Hello @john-sullivan-2523,
If flushing and recreating the sitemap fixes the issue it means some form of cache is at play.
In that case ensure you exclude Rank Math’s files from caching by following this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
