Unexpected Redirects & Homepage Conflicts After Installation

    Rank Math free

After installing Rank Math, automatic redirects were created that affected my homepage and other key pages. I’ve manually reset my front page, but the plugin seems to retain old redirect rules or override the settings, causing erratic behavior and misrouted URLs.

Attempts to fix the issue trigger further conflicts—likely due to cached redirects or residual settings—making the site unstable. I need help identifying and safely removing problematic redirect rules, and ensuring the plugin doesn’t automatically alter the homepage structure again.

    Restore stable homepage behavior

Preserve the SEO settings I’ve configured so far
Besides this im loving Rankmath plugin

    Thank you Michael Newbille

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you are facing with unexpected redirects and homepage conflicts after installing Rank Math. It sounds like there may be residual redirect rules or conflicts with other plugins that are causing these problems.

To address the unexpected redirects, we recommend following these steps:

    1. Check for Other Redirection Plugins: Ensure that you do not have any other redirection plugins installed that might be conflicting with Rank Math. If you find any, please deactivate or remove them.

    2. Perform a Conflict Check: You can perform a quick conflict check by enabling the Troubleshooting mode in your WordPress site. This will allow you to disable Rank Math temporarily and see if the redirects still occur. If they stop, then the issue may be related to Rank Math or another plugin.

      • Make sure to back up your site before doing this to avoid any data loss.
      • You can find more information on how to perform a conflict check here.
    3. Clear Cache: If you are using any caching plugins, clear the cache after making changes to ensure that old redirect rules are not being served.

    4. Review Redirects in Rank Math: Go to the Redirection Manager in Rank Math and review the existing redirects. You can delete any that are unnecessary or causing issues.

    5. Check Google Search Console: If you have access to Google Search Console, check for any errors or issues reported there that might give you insight into what is happening with your URLs.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, we recommend replying to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further in identifying and safely removing problematic redirect rules.

Thank you for your feedback about the Rank Math plugin! We appreciate it and are here to help you restore stable homepage behavior while preserving your SEO settings.
