Just like what my title is describing.

I’ve tried all method to diagnose the issue, but the result from my manual checking is always showing follow and indexed. However, when i try to submit the url to google search console, it keeps saying that ‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta tag.

Ironically, my site was working fine and a few of my pages started to be “noindex” since july 26th. This is example http://www.nova.com.hk/company-secretary

May I ask if there’s any hidden button that might have applied “noindex” tag to my site and pages. Or is there any way to solve this issue.

    Thanks!

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the ‘noindex’ tag being detected by Google Search Console while Rank Math shows it as indexed. Thank you for providing your site URL; this helps in diagnosing the problem.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

    1. Check Rank Math Metabox

    • Open the specific page in the WordPress Editor (for example, your company secretary page).
    • In the Gutenberg Editor, click the Rank Math SEO icon in the top-right corner to open the Rank Math Metabox. For Classic Editor, scroll down to find it.
    • Ensure that under the Advanced Tab, the Robots Meta is set to Index. If it’s set to No Index, change it to Index and update the page.

    Rank Math Advanced Tab

    2. Check Titles & Meta Settings

    • Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and check if there are any default settings that might be applying a noindex tag to your pages.
    • Make sure that the settings for your pages are set to index if you want them to be indexed by search engines.

Set Noindex in Titles and Meta Settings

    3. Search Engine Visibility Settings

    • Go to Settings → Reading in your WordPress admin dashboard and ensure that the Search engine visibility option is unchecked. If this option is checked, it can prevent search engines from indexing your site.

Search engine visibility test from settings

    4. Validate Fix in Google Search Console

    • After making these changes, ensure your sitemap is updated and then go back to Google Search Console to use the Validate Fix option for the affected URLs. It may take some time for Google to re-crawl your site and update its index status.

If you have followed these steps and are still encountering issues, we recommend replying to this ticket with any additional details or questions. A human agent from our support team will be able to assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope this helps resolve your issue!

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

We checked the page in question, and it seems to be correctly set to index in the robots meta.

Please clear your website caches, including any server-level caching services, and then try submitting the URL in your GSC account once again.

If the issue persists, please share a screenshot of the updated report from the URL Inspection tool here.

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

I’ve cleared cache, but its not working. I tried submitting my homepage again, but still failed by indexing it to GSC. you may see the screenshot in the sensitive data. Is there any other way to work on it?

    Hello,

Rank Math is already adding the correct robots meta tag to index in your page’s source code.

However, upon inspecting the element, there’s a script that adds another meta robots to noindex.

Please refer to the screenshot in the sensitive data section.

To determine which plugin/theme is causing that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
