    Rank Math free

I tried to connect rankmath to my website in wordpress and it made me create a rankmath free account but for some reason it automatically created what looks like a brand new wordpress account attached to my email that’s linked to my real wordpress site. Now when I try to activate it and connect it, it forces me to login to this new wordpress account but I want to link it to my real site/wordpress. I’m not sure why/how it happened. Can you help me?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with connecting Rank Math to your WordPress site. It seems like there might have been a mix-up with the accounts during the connection process.

To resolve this, please follow these steps:

    1. Disconnect the Current Account: Go to your WordPress Dashboard, navigate to Rank Math SEO → Dashboard → Help, and click on Disconnect Account.
      Disconnect Account

    2. Reconnect with the Correct Account: After disconnecting, click on Connect Now to reconnect your website. Make sure to select the correct Rank Math account associated with your PRO license (if applicable).
      Click Connect Now

    3. Verify Your Account: Ensure that you are using the email linked to your original Rank Math account when prompted to log in.

If you continue to experience issues or if your website is still not showing up correctly, please reply to this ticket with your website URL, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope this helps you resolve the issue!

I would but I haven’t even connected it yet, it says not connected, but when it tries to connect, it says I’m connecting to some random username that is somehow attached to my email. But I dont recognize it. The username I am using right now is the username it is trying to connect to, and I dont recognize it. it wont link up properly to my actual site. I need help.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The username of the account you opened this ticket with is witchscrumptiouslye3e2839eb6 with the email info@*****.***

We can help you change your username. To check if your preferred name is available, open your profile URL and try to change the name: https://support.rankmath.com/users/username1/

If changing username1 to [preferred nickname] shows a profile instead of a Page Not Found error, then it means the username is taken.

Please note that usernames can’t have spaces.

Kindly send us your preferred username or nickname and we will do the needful.

For the connection issue please head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > General and make sure there are no mismatches in the WordPress URL and Site URL in those options.

If you have different website URLs in there, that would explain the issue as they need to match for the connection to happen correctly.

To remedy that, you need to add a filter code to your website that will bypass the URL check when you connect your Rank Math account to your website. This might help if there is some issue with your server configuration or DNS settings.

To add the filter code, please follow this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/

Here’s the filter code you need to add to your website.:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/registration/do_url_check', '__return_false' );

You can add it to your theme’s functions.php file or use a plugin like Code Snippets.

For more information on why this issue happens and how to fix it, you can check this page: https://rankmath.com/kb/problems-while-connecting-account/

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
