Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing. It seems like you successfully verified your site using the first method, which is great to hear! However, retrieving the original HTML tag code that you copied for verification can be a bit tricky if you didn’t save it elsewhere.
Unfortunately, once you replace the code in the Rank Math settings with a new one, the previous code is not stored or retrievable from the plugin itself. If you need to see the original code again, you would typically have to go back to the Google Search Console and select the HTML tag verification method again to get a new code.
Here’s how you can do that:
- Go to Google Search Console.
- Click on your property (your website).
- Navigate to the verification section and select the HTML tag method again.
- Copy the new HTML tag provided.
If you want to ensure everything is set up correctly or if you have further questions about your settings, we recommend checking out our professional setup service at Rank Math Services. This service is available for PRO users and can help ensure your plugin setup adheres to the latest SEO standards.
Thank you for raising this concern, and if you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reply to this ticket!

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math Support and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
Since you’ve already verified your site using this method, there’s typically no need to add another verification method through Google Search Console manually, as adding a second method can sometimes cause Google to override the existing one, as you observed.
To view the original meta tag used by Rank Math, please visit your website’s homepage, Right-click and select View Page Source.
Then, search for the tag: meta name=”google-site-verification”, the content value inside this tag is the verification code Rank Math added for you.
I hope this helps. If you still have any questions or need assistance with a specific feature, just reply here and we’ll be happy to help you further.
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback that means a lot. One other question came to mind. I noticed when I put the websites name in google search in spaces it didn’t show up in search. But when I typed the sites name in one word it showed up in search at the very top. How can I fix it where Google shows the website in search by typing each word in spaces. I know there are upgrades to plugins where it allows you to add key words and phrases for seo that helps in ranking and search optimization. Should I upgrade to that in rank math seo to better help search optimization? Your help and support is greatly appreciated. I’m finishing up on a website and need to do this last thing in seo.
Thanks,
Haig
Sorry to bring this question back up but my google search console in the “web master tools tab” in rank seo shows: google-site-verification: google2a31d0dc1135af34.html ( the code I copied from the google console site from verification method one). But previously when I saved it it shows a string of letter and numbers if I remember correctly. In the “page source,” I see another string of code <meta name=”msvalidate.01″ content=”ABA2DD70BEDADCFBAD121E8D18E15555.” Should I put the ABA2DD70BEDADCFBAD121E8D18E15555 code in the google search console in rank math seo?
Everything has already been verified by google. I just want to make sure when I optimize through rank math seo further everything will get updated (which I’m sure it will). Just need to put back what I saw in the google console in rank math seo (the code I saw earlier).
Thank you for your time.
Best,
Haig
Hello,
Can you please confirm if you’re referring to your website’s site name on SERP like this?

If so, please note that Google uses a machine learning algorithm to generate the sitename for your pages based on other information it has collected about your website and your industry.
I would suggest keeping mentioning the desired title on both the title of the page and the schema structure (which our plugin automatically adds after configuring the Local SEO settings in Rank Math > Titles & Meta).
Lastly, please go through the Google guidelines about the site name to help you increase the chances of displaying the desired site name on the SERP: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/site-names
If that wasn’t it, please share a screenshot from your end using this tool: https://imgur.com/upload
As for your question about the verification code, if your site is already verified in Google Search Console, there’s no need to re-add or modify the verification code. The string you’re seeing in the meta tag (msvalidate.01
) is for Bing verification, not Google.
To ensure Rank Math continues working as expected, you can simply keep the original code from the first verification method you used. No need to change anything else.
Looking forward to helping you.
