    Hi,
I just activated my account with Active Content IA and am currently completing the last steps before publishing the entire website, specifically on a subdomain with a different URL than the final one. My questions are:
    – if I develop SEO for all the elements I’ve selected, after changing the URL, will I run into problems with the SEO configuration?
    – What’s your advice?
    – Is it better to wait until the entire website is developed and then develop the SEO elements on the main domain?
Thank you so much for your support.
    Best regards,
    Remo

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing. When it comes to developing SEO on a subdomain before switching to the final URL, here are some considerations:

    1. SEO Configuration Transfer: If you optimize your SEO settings on the subdomain, those settings will not automatically transfer to the main domain once you switch URLs. You will need to reconfigure your SEO settings for the new URL. This includes updating any meta tags, sitemaps, and other SEO elements to reflect the new domain.

    2. Advice: It is generally advisable to set up your SEO elements on the final URL rather than on a temporary subdomain. This way, you can ensure that all optimizations are directly applied to the URL that will be indexed by search engines. If you must work on the subdomain, keep a detailed record of all SEO settings so you can replicate them on the main domain.

    3. Waiting to Develop SEO: If possible, it might be better to wait until the entire website is developed and then implement the SEO elements on the main domain. This approach minimizes the risk of losing any SEO work and ensures that all optimizations are applied correctly from the start.
