  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap. If Google is indicating that your sitemap can be read but has errors, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Validate Your Sitemap: Use a tool like the Validate XML Sitemap to check for any errors in your sitemap configuration.

    2. Check the Sitemap Header: Ensure that your sitemap file is using the correct header:

Make sure there are no extra spaces or lines before this declaration.

    3. Check for Unsupported File Format: If you see an error about unsupported file format, ensure that the namespace in the header ends with 0.9 and that you are using straight quotes for XML attributes.

    4. Flush Permalinks: Sometimes, flushing permalinks can resolve issues with sitemap accessibility. Go to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress admin area and click Save Changes without making any changes.
      Flush permalink settings

    5. Clear Cache: If you have caching enabled on your site, clear your cache to ensure that the latest version of your sitemap is being served.

If you still encounter issues after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so we can assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!
