Overriding layout

I’m experiencing an issue where, after activating or configuring Rank Math on my WordPress website (built with Elementor Pro), the layout and styling of my blog posts suddenly break.

    Here’s what’s happening:

I’m using Elementor Theme Builder with a custom “Single Post” template that works fine initially.

After implementing Rank Math (especially when editing SEO settings or snippets), the blog layout loses its CSS styling, and sometimes reverts to a default or broken version.

I do not edit the posts in Gutenberg, only with Elementor.

Even after setting proper display conditions and restoring templates manually, the issue returns whenever I interact with Rank Math.

    Can you please clarify:

Does Rank Math modify or interfere with Elementor’s template loading or post rendering?

Is there a known conflict or setting that could cause this (e.g. schema output, breadcrumbs, filters)?

What steps can I take to completely prevent Rank Math from altering layout structure or interfering with dynamic blog content?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your blog layout after activating or configuring Rank Math on your WordPress website. It sounds frustrating, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

    To address your concerns:

    1. Rank Math and Elementor Compatibility: Rank Math does not inherently modify or interfere with Elementor’s template loading or post rendering. However, conflicts can arise due to how certain themes or plugins handle CSS and JavaScript, especially when they are not fully compatible with each other.

    2. Known Conflicts: There are instances where certain themes or plugins may conflict with Rank Math, leading to issues like the one you described. This can include conflicts with schema output or other SEO-related features. It’s essential to ensure that all your plugins and themes are updated to their latest versions to minimize compatibility issues.

    3. Preventing Layout Alterations: Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

      • Check for Plugin Conflicts: Disable other plugins one by one to see if any of them are causing the conflict with Rank Math. This includes any caching or optimization plugins that might be affecting how styles are loaded.
      • Inspect Theme Settings: Sometimes, themes have specific settings that can affect how plugins interact with them. Check your theme settings for any options related to SEO or schema that might be conflicting with Rank Math.
      • Use Elementor’s Custom CSS: If you have custom CSS in Elementor, ensure it is correctly applied and not being overridden by other styles. You can also try adding important rules to your CSS to ensure they take precedence.
      • Enable Rank Math on Elementor Templates: If you are using Elementor templates, you may need to enable Rank Math SEO on those templates specifically. You can find guidance on how to do this in our knowledgebase article.
      • Check REST Route: Ensure that the REST route used by Rank Math is not blocked by any security plugins or server settings. You can check this by visiting https://rankmath.com/blog/backup-wordpress-site/ in your browser (replaceyourdomain.com` with your actual domain).

If these steps do not resolve the issue, we recommend replying to this ticket with more details about your site setup, including the URL of your site, so a human agent from our support team can assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and we hope to help you resolve this issue soon!

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it could be caused by a conflict with one of your plugins/theme.
