Iussue with Facebook post sharing

    Hello,
I need support for a website where we’re experiencing an issue when sharing posts on Facebook. Instead of showing the featured image, it displays a gray image. This happens with all posts we’ve published over the past two days.
The issue started after updating your plugins to the latest version. We also tried downgrading, but that did not resolve the problem.

We’re attaching some screenshots as well.
We have also deactivated all plugins, but the issue remains—actually, it gets worse when we disable Rank Math, obviously due to missing Open Graph tags.
We’ve checked for possible server-side blocks, .htaccess, firewall settings, and robots.txt, but everything seems fine.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with Facebook post sharing. It sounds like a frustrating situation, especially since you’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps.

Here are a few things you can check to resolve the issue with the Open Graph image not displaying correctly:

    1. Check Open Graph Tags: Ensure that the Open Graph tags are correctly set up for your posts. You can do this by using the Facebook Sharing Debugger to see how Facebook reads your page. This tool will also allow you to scrape your URL again to refresh the Open Graph data.

    2. Image Format and Dimensions: Make sure that the images you are using meet Facebook’s requirements. The recommended image size is 1200px X 630px, and supported formats include JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and AVIF. If your images do not meet these criteria, Facebook may not display them correctly.

    3. Cache Issues: Since you mentioned trying to deactivate plugins, ensure that any caching mechanisms (like server-side caching or CDN caching) are cleared. Sometimes, cached versions of your pages can cause issues with displaying updated content.

    4. Minification and Compression: If you are using minification or gzip compression in your caching plugin, try disabling these features temporarily to see if it resolves the issue. Sometimes, these settings can interfere with how Open Graph tags are rendered in the source code.

    5. Check for Conflicts: Since you mentioned that the issue worsens when Rank Math is disabled, there might be a conflict with another plugin or theme. Try switching to a default WordPress theme temporarily to see if the problem persists.

If you’ve gone through these steps and the issue still isn’t resolved, we recommend replying to this ticket with any additional details or screenshots you have, and a human agent from our support team will take over and assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

The ticket mentions that I have the free plugin, but I actually have a license for the Pro version, which is correctly installed.
