Issues with “long paragraphs”

My SEO score is affected by “long paragraphs” on my pages. However, i seem to be having an issue with WordPress or Elementor or possibly Royal Elementor Addons removing the spaces, line breaks, paragraphs, etc to identify these are paragraphs. No matter what code I put in or what I do (double enter, SHIFT + ENTER, <br>, <p>) they get deleted and don’t save. I’ve seen many discuss this online but no solutions. An example of this would be on this page: https://heronpondhideaway.com/cabin-with-hot-tub-cabin-policies/
There do not appear to be any long paragraphs; however Rank Math is docking me for long paragraphs. These will stay this way as long as I don’t go in and edit them. However, once i do, the line breaks will disappear. Have you heard about this and do you have a solution?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with long paragraphs affecting your SEO score. It sounds like a frustrating situation with WordPress or Elementor removing your formatting.

To address the long paragraphs issue, Rank Math considers any paragraph with over 120 words as long. If you’re experiencing problems with line breaks and paragraph formatting being stripped away, it may be related to how Elementor or the Royal Elementor Addons handle content.

Here are a few suggestions you can try:

    1. Check Elementor Settings: Ensure that there are no settings in Elementor that might be affecting how text is formatted. Sometimes, specific settings can strip out HTML tags or formatting.
    2. Use Custom HTML Block: Instead of using the standard text editor, try using a Custom HTML block in Elementor to manually add your paragraphs and line breaks. This might help retain the formatting.
    3. Content AI: Consider using Rank Math’s Content AI feature to help generate more concise paragraphs if you find that your content is too lengthy. You can find more about it here.
    4. Review Theme Compatibility: Sometimes, themes can conflict with plugins. Ensure that your theme is compatible with Elementor and Rank Math.

If these suggestions do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket with more details about your site setup, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!
