Hello,
I apologize for the issue you are facing with the unnecessary part of your URL. To remove specific words or phrases from your permalinks using Rank Math, you can follow these steps:
Removing a Specific Word from Your Permalinks
-
Navigate to Redirections: Go to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Redirections. If the Redirections Manager is not visible, ensure that you have enabled the Redirections module from WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO.

-
Add a New Redirection: Click on the Add New button to create a new redirection.

-
Set Up the Redirection: You can set up a redirection from the old URL (with the unnecessary part) to the new URL (without it). Make sure to configure the settings correctly to avoid any issues.
For more detailed guidance, you can refer to our knowledgebase article on removing specific words from permalinks.

Hi, please check this screenshot.

Hello,
That page is not working, and only shows a page not found error with this URL:
/the-unexpected-joy-of-solo-travel-why-everyone-should-try-it-once-copy-5/
In that case, that URL will be removed eventually when Google recrawls your site.
You can also utilize the page removal tool in your Google Search Console account to remove the old URL from the search results page

What’s the Remove all URLs with this prefix mean? what’s the prefix?
Remove this URL only
Remove all URLs with this prefix
Which one should i choose?
Hello,
In Google Search Console’s Removals tool:
“Remove this URL only” will remove just the exact URL you entered.
“Remove all URLs with this prefix” will remove the entered URL and all URLs that start with the same path.
If you only want to remove a single outdated page (like /the-unexpected-joy-of-solo-travel-why-everyone-should-try-it-once-copy-5/), choose “Remove this URL only.”
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
I entered the URL in the temporary removal field in the Google search, but I couldn’t.
The error message says
URL not in property
Request a URL in the currently selected property or switch properties
Hello,
That error means the URL you entered doesn’t belong to the currently selected property in Google Search Console. Please make sure you’re viewing the correct property that matches the domain of the URL (including the correct version, such as http/https
and www/non-www
).
Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.
