Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap. The error you are encountering when uploading your sitemap to Google Search Console could be due to several reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Validate Your Sitemap
Make sure your sitemap is correctly configured. You can use the Validate XML Sitemap tool to check for any issues. If your sitemap is valid, it should return a "No issues detected" message.
2. Ensure the Sitemap is Located in the Root Folder
Your sitemap should be located in the root folder of your WordPress installation. The URL should look like this:
https://yourdomainname.com/sitemap_index.xml`
3. Check Indexing Settings
Ensure that your posts are set to index. Go to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and make sure the Index checkbox is enabled for your posts.
4. Flush the Cache
If your sitemap appears outdated, you may need to flush the cache. Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings, increase the value of Links Per Sitemap by one, and then save your settings. After that, go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes.
5. Exclude the Sitemap From Caching
Make sure that your sitemap is not being cached by any caching plugins. You can refer to this article on ensuring that your sitemaps are excluded from caching.
6. Add the Correct Sitemap URL to Google Search Console
Ensure you are submitting the correct sitemap URL in Google Search Console. If you have multiple variations of your site (http vs https, www vs non-www), make sure you are using the correct one.
If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket with any additional details or errors you encounter, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Troubleshooting the “Couldn’t Fetch” Error in Google Search Console » Rank MathHello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
We have seen this type of issue before with Divi. It happens when you are using the Blurb feature in Divi and using a background image in the Blurb.
Users have already reported this to Divi but we suggest you notify them as well to move the issue to priority. You can ask them if they have a solution where these background images of blurbs are not included in the sitemaps.
The functionality of Rank Math being able to see Divi images and adding them to the sitemap was added by the Divi team and that is why it is recommended that you contact them directly.
However, to fix this issue temporarily, you can disable the Images in the Sitemap option in Rank Math sitemap settings or exclude the specific pages from where the image URLs are coming.
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
