Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the sitemap for your blog posts. It sounds like a frustrating situation, especially since you have already tried several troubleshooting steps.
Since you are using WPML and experiencing issues specifically with the English links leading to a 404 error, here are a few things you can check:
-
Check WPML Settings: Ensure that your WPML settings are correctly configured for the post types and that the translations are properly set up.
-
Flush Permalinks: You mentioned you have already done this, but just to reiterate, go to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress admin area and click on Save Changes without making any changes. This can sometimes resolve issues with sitemap generation.

-
Sitemap Settings: Go to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings and ensure that the post types are not blocked from appearing in the sitemap.
-
Check for Plugin Conflicts: Use the Health Check plugin to see if there are any conflicts with other plugins that might be affecting the sitemap.
-
Custom Code: If you have added any custom code related to sitemaps or WPML, consider temporarily removing it to see if it resolves the issue.
If these steps do not resolve the problem, we recommend replying to this ticket with your site URL and any additional details. A human agent from our support team will be able to take a closer look at your specific setup and assist you further.
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, and we look forward to helping you resolve it!
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us.
We checked both sitemaps, and they worked correctly:

Please follow the steps below if the issue persists for you:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hi! Unfortunately they don’t work correctly as you can see on your screenshot for example the english version one.. it also includes the ‘dutch’ posts (as you can see there are dutch slugs as well) and vice versa.
Thank you
Hello,
Can you please confirm if you’re using a multisite setup for different languages? If so, please note that the correct way to use our plugin on a multisite setup is to install it on the network but only activate it on specific subsites. So, if you have activated the Rank Math plugin on the network, please deactivate it on the network and then activate it on the subsite.
Also, please note that the sitemap generation for multilingual websites is controlled by the translation plugin and not by our plugin. We add the main language sitemap, and then the translation plugin handles how the other pages are added to the sitemap, or if they should get added to the sitemap.
However, you can install the WPML SEO glue plugin on your website (if not yet). It’s available on your WPML Downloads page: https://wpml.org/compatibility/2021/04/wpml-seo-plugin-better-integration-with-seo-plugins/
Once done, please clear your sitemap cache and see if that resolves the issue.
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
