Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your feature images not showing up in Google’s search results. Thank you for providing detailed information about the steps you’ve taken so far.
Since you’ve already followed the guide on how to show images in search results and have checked for errors using Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool, here are a few additional considerations:
-
Image Quality and Relevance: Ensure that your images are high-quality and relevant to the content of your posts. Google tends to favor images that enhance the user experience.
-
Indexing: Make sure that your pages are indexed by Google. You can check this using the Google Search Console. If your pages are not indexed, you can submit them for indexing through the URL Inspection tool.

-
Content Quality: Google may not display images if it considers the overall quality of the content to be low. Factors such as thin content, keyword stuffing, or excessive ads can affect this.
-
Patience: Sometimes, it takes time for Google to update its index and display changes in search results. Even if everything is set up correctly, it may take a while for images to appear.
-
Structured Data Guidelines: Review Google’s structured data guidelines to ensure compliance with their requirements.
If you’ve checked all these aspects and still face issues, it might be beneficial to have a professional review your setup. We offer a professional setup service that ensures your plugin is configured correctly and adheres to the latest SEO standards. You can find more information about this service here.

How to Show Images in the Search Results » Rank Math
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention.
Reviewing the schema, we can see that Rank Math correctly adds the primaryImageOfPage and we can also see your site’s images in the image section of the SERPs.
Please note that there is no way we can control the images shown in search results. The Google Search algorithms select the images as it believes that it is something that would benefit the users.
Here’s a link for more information on this: https://www.infidigit.com/news/can-you-control-the-image-snippets-shown-for-a-google-search-result/
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Hi Ike,
thanks for your reply and the link.
Where do you see the images in the SERP? I know that Google doesn’t guarantee showing images in search results, but in my case it is not only Google but all search engines. I find it hard to understand why other pages with almost identical images are shown in the SERP with the featured image and my posts are not.
Do you have any other idea what it could be besides the snippet that prevents the search engines from showing the image?
Hello,
Please note that Rank Math doesn’t have any control over how images in the SERP results are displayed; search engines display them as per their will.
It mostly depends on the keyword search term and the website’s authority.
You may try to add relevant ALT text to the featured image or image you wanted to show, and chances are, search engines will refer to it.
Looking forward to helping you.
Hi Reinelle,
thanks for your answer. I already have alt-tags defined. What really makes me wondering is, that Google recognizes the image, but shows non in SERP. Same goes for other search engines. That’s why I thought maybe something is blocking the image display in SERP. Is there something else I’m missing?
Apart from that I found out that Google doesn’t correctly recognize images from schema inside Article (and Blogpostings) as long as credits are missing (https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/229312547/enhancements-tab-is-missing-from-the-menu-panes?hl=en). I manually added the creator field and now images are shown in Search Console. While doing that I also found out that the primary image-Imageobject doesn’t have a conentURL set, although the logo does. I read that contentURL is preferred over url and added it manually. Maybe you want to adopt that.
Hello,
Thanks for the feedback. However, the current implementation of the Schema markup in our plugin is according to Google’s guidelines. But, as mentioned before, the image in the SERPs is not controlled by Schema markup. Google chooses the image from your content if they think that it will be helpful and increase the quality of the search results.
Please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
