  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your images not being included in the sitemap. It’s important for images to be indexed properly to maintain your search traffic.

To ensure that images are included in your sitemap when using Rank Math, please follow these steps:

    1. Enable Image SEO: Make sure that the Image SEO module is enabled in Rank Math. You can do this by navigating to Rank Math > General Settings > Images and ensuring that the option to include images in the sitemap is turned on.

    2. Check Sitemap Settings: Go to Rank Math > Sitemap Settings and verify that the option to include images in the sitemap is enabled. If it’s already enabled, try toggling it off and then back on again.

    3. Regenerate Sitemap: After making changes, regenerate your sitemap by going to Rank Math > Sitemap Settings and clicking on the regenerate button.

    4. Clear Cache: If you are using any caching plugins, clear your website cache as well as your browser cache to ensure you are viewing the latest version of your sitemap.

    5. Check for Custom HTML: As you mentioned, ensure that images added via custom HTML or inline code are not affecting the sitemap generation. Only images uploaded through the WordPress media library should be included.

If you have followed all these steps and still do not see the image tags in your sitemap, we recommend reaching out to our support team for further assistance. You can reply to this ticket, and a human agent will take over and provide more specific guidance based on your website’s configuration.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

Please note that our plugin doesn’t generate a separate sitemap for images, as Google no longer considers it for indexing images. The image URLs are included in the source code of the post-type sitemap, and you can check the number of images included for a post under the “Images” column of the sitemap:

If you want a separate sitemap for the Attachment pages, please navigate to WP Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > General Settings > Links and disable the Redirect Attachments option. Then, navigate to WP Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > Titles & Meta > Attachments, enable the Robots Meta option, and set it to Index.

Once done, make sure that the Include in Sitemap option is enabled in WP Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > Sitemap Settings > Attachments.

However, we don’t recommend including the attachment pages in the sitemap as they have thin content and can negatively affect your site’s SEO performance.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
