Issue with redirecting

    Hi there,

We’re running into an issue with the redirection feature in Rank Math.

Our URLs include product parameters like this:
    /product/name?attribute_pa_color=Beige
These parameters are used for filters on the site.

When setting up a redirect for such URLs, the redirect fails and returns a 404 error.

However, if we remove the question mark (?), the redirect works — but of course, this isn’t the correct URL that users or search engines are accessing.

Since we’ve recently migrated from Yoast, we now have several thousand of these URLs resulting in broken redirects. Manually fixing them isn’t an option.

Could you advise how we can correctly redirect URLs that include query parameters?
Would it be an option for us to receive a piece of code or snippet to help resolve this issue programmatically?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the redirection feature in Rank Math. It sounds like you’re encountering challenges with redirecting URLs that include query parameters.

To set up redirects for parameterized URLs in Rank Math, you can follow these steps:

    1. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Redirections.
    2. Add the parameterized URL as the Source URL. For example, use /product/name?attribute_pa_color=Beige as your source.
    3. Specify the Destination URL where you want users to be redirected.
    4. Click on the Update Redirection button to save your changes.

If you are still experiencing issues with these redirects not functioning correctly, it may be due to caching or other configuration settings. Make sure to clear your site and browser cache after making changes.
