    Hi.

Had an issue with another plugin the other day resulting in a total reloading of a backed up site instance.

The social media image set in Rank Math post options though no longer displays. It is in the media gallery and shows with the settings. I have tried rolling back RM and then forward again to see if that jogged it, selecting another image – saving – then reverting, been through the database tools too; but all to no avail. Do you have any other suggestions?

I’m not a developer and can’t afford one, just a tiny business owner who is a little tech savvy.

    Thanks, Will

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the social media image not displaying after your site restore. Thank you for providing detailed information about the steps you’ve already taken.

Here are a few additional suggestions to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Open Graph Settings: Ensure that the Open Graph image is set correctly in Rank Math. You can do this by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math → Titles & Meta → Global → OpenGraph Thumbnail. Make sure the image is uploaded and saved properly.

    2. Post/Page Specific Settings: Verify that the specific post or page has the correct social media image set. You can do this by editing the post and checking the Rank Math settings in the sidebar under the Social tab. Make sure the image is selected there as well.

    3. Image Format and Dimensions: Ensure that the image format is supported (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, or AVIF) and that it meets the recommended dimensions of 1200px X 630px. If the dimensions are too small or too large, Facebook may not display it correctly.

    4. Clear Cache: If you are using any caching plugins, clear the cache to ensure that the latest changes are reflected on your site.

    5. Facebook Debugger Tool: Use the Facebook Sharing Debugger to scrape your URL again. This tool can help identify any issues with how Facebook sees your page and can refresh its cache for your URL.

If you’ve tried all these steps and the issue persists, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and we hope to resolve this for you soon!

    Hello,

The og:image meta tag is missing from the source code, and the featured image of your homepage is set as SVG:
    https://pedalution.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Club-on-The-Levels.svg

Please ensure that the image you have set while editing your page and in Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Global Meta > OpenGraph Thumbnail is as close as 1200 x 630 pixels.

Also, the image file format you are using is only between jpeg, gif, or png as per Opengraph Standards.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Event featured images are SVG but the social image is a jpg of at 1200×630 – these are not displaying, just get an empty placeholder.
