Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the redirects. It sounds like you have set up the redirects but they are not functioning as expected. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:
-
Check Your Redirect Settings: Ensure that the redirect you created is correctly configured in the Rank Math Redirection Manager. Make sure that the source URL is exactly as it appears in your browser, including any parameters or fragments.
-
Clear Cache: If you are using a caching plugin or your server has caching enabled, clear the cache to ensure that the changes take effect.
-
Check for Conflicting Plugins: Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with redirection settings. Temporarily disable other plugins to see if that resolves the issue.
-
Update Rank Math: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Rank Math, as updates often include bug fixes and improvements.
-
Debugging: You can use Rank Math’s Debug Redirection feature to see if there are any issues with how the redirects are being processed. This can help identify if there’s a misconfiguration.
If you have followed these steps and the issue persists, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to resolve it for you soon!
Hello,
The URL you provided contains a fragment identifier (the part after the #
symbol), which is only handled by web browsers and not by the server.
Because of this, it’s not possible to set up a standard server-side redirect for URLs that include a #
fragment. The server simply doesn’t receive that portion of the URL, so it cannot act on it.
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
Thank you for your reply.
Does that mean that there is nothing I can do about that? It currently just defaults to the home page so I guess the only solution is to go into every blog and page that has those links and change them to the correct one.
Is that right?
Matt
Hello,
Yes, you should update your links to point directly to the correct path (without the “#”); this is the cleanest solution.
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
