Meta Description Not Updating After Editing in Rank Math SEO

    Hello,
    I initially indexed my website without setting a meta description manually, so Google picked a paragraph from the content as the meta description. Recently, I added a proper meta description using the Rank Math SEO plugin and updated the page. Although the title has been updated in search results, the meta description is still showing the old content instead of the one I manually set.
    Can you please help me understand why the new meta description isn’t appearing and how I can fix it?

    That’s something that affects pretty much every site. Google might show a different description depending on the search parameters used during the search.

    Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and shows something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

    In this case, the best you can do is optimize your meta title and description to try and match the intent of the search/keyword. Then wait for Google to recrawl your site. You can also use the URL inspection tool in Google Search Console to hasten the process.
