Crawled – Currently Not Indexed Issue | Requesting Help with Indexing by google

#1003298
  • Dear Rank Math Support Team,
I’m reaching out regarding a serious indexing issue I’ve been facing with my website.
Issue: All of my URLs are marked as “Crawled – Currently not indexed” in Google Search Console.

    Website launched: ~3 months ago

    URLs: 500

One month ago, all URLs were suddenly deindexed by Google.

Since then, I’ve made several updates:

    Steps Taken:
Rewritten most of the content to be unique and valuable.

Updated the robots.txt file (no disallow rules now).

Verified no noindex tags on the pages.

    Resubmitted sitemap via Rank Math.

Requested indexing manually via Search Console.

Checked site health (mobile-friendly, good loading speed).

Using Rank Math Instant Indexing plugin.

No major technical issues reported in Rank Math or GSC.

Despite all this, none of the URLs are getting indexed again.

Any guidance or recommendations to resolve this and get the pages indexed again would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and support.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s indexing in Google Search Console. Thank you for providing detailed information about the steps you’ve taken to resolve the "Crawled – Currently Not Indexed" status.

Given that you’ve already implemented several best practices, here are a few additional recommendations:

    1. Check for Site-Wide Quality Issues: Since you mentioned that all URLs are affected, it might be worth investigating if there is a site-wide quality issue. Ensure that your content is not only unique but also comprehensive and valuable to users. Google tends to prioritize high-quality content for indexing.

    2. Internal Linking Structure: Make sure that your important pages have strong internal links from other relevant pages on your site. This can help Google understand the importance of these pages.

    3. Use the URL Inspection Tool: Continue using the URL Inspection Tool in Google Search Console to check the status of individual URLs. If they show as indexed there but not in the coverage report, it may be a reporting delay.
Inspect URL in Google Search Console

    4. Monitor for Reporting Discrepancies: As noted, there can be discrepancies between the URL Inspection Tool and the Index Coverage report. If the URL Inspection Tool shows that your pages are indexed, it may just take time for the coverage report to update.

    5. Consider Using Instant Indexing: Since you are already using the Rank Math Instant Indexing feature, ensure that it is properly configured. You can submit individual pages for indexing directly from your WordPress dashboard.

    6. Seek Community Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to the Google Search Help Community for further assistance, as they may provide insights specific to Google’s indexing behavior.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these suggestions, please reply to this ticket with your website URL so we can assist you further. A human agent will take over and provide more tailored support.

We hope this helps you get your pages indexed again soon!

    Dear Rank Math Team,

Thank you again for your support and valuable suggestions.

As advised, I’ve reviewed my site for potential content quality issues. I’ve used a few private tools to evaluate the content, and they indicate that the content is fine — unique, readable, and relevant. However, I’m still unsure if that’s enough from Google’s perspective.

    Could you kindly clarify:

What are the best tools or methods to assess content quality specifically in the context of Google indexing?

Are there any Rank Math features, third-party audits, or content scoring tools you’d recommend to ensure my pages meet Google’s content quality standards?

I’d greatly appreciate any guidance that can help me clearly understand what might still be holding back the indexing.

    Hello,

If you’ve already updated your content, we recommend clearing your website cache, including any server-level cache, and then revalidating the issue in Google Search Console. After that, please allow some time for Google to recrawl your site.

For more details on this issue, you can refer to the following article:

Additionally, please note that Google released a core algorithm update last month:

To check whether your site was affected by this update and learn how to recover if it was, please refer to this detailed guide:

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Thank you once again for your assistance.

I wanted to let you know that I had already cleared both website and server-level cache before revalidating the affected URLs in Google Search Console. The revalidation was completed successfully.

As I continue monitoring the site, I have a couple of questions:

How long does it typically take for Google to reindex URLs once they’ve been deindexed and content has been updated?

Are there any additional suggestions from your side — beyond content quality, internal linking, and sitemap resubmission — that could help speed up or improve indexing?

I’m committed to resolving this and ensuring the best SEO practices are in place. If there are any plugin-specific settings or advanced methods . you recommend, I’d be happy to implement them.

    Hello,

We typically see that updated URLs can take anywhere from a few days up to several weeks to be reindexed by Google, depending on the site’s crawl budget and overall authority. In addition to ensuring top-notch content quality, a robust internal linking structure, and sitemap resubmission, we recommend the following:

    1. Continue using Google’s URL Inspection tool to help expedite the process.

    2. Ensure that your server is performing optimally, as faster response times can encourage quicker crawling.

    3. Check Google Search Console’s crawl stats for potential bottlenecks.

We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.

    Thank you.

    Hai,

Cleared site caches and resaved permalink settings

Used the URL Inspection Tool and requested indexing manually

Despite these efforts, Search Console continues to show “0 URLs discovered” from my sitemap and no signs of reindexing progress. The sitemap loads correctly and includes valid pages.

I kindly request your support to help re-evaluate and reindex my site. Please let me know if there are any specific compliance or technical issues I should address further.

Looking forward to your guidance and support.

    Hello,

Since the URLs are marked as “Crawled – Currently not indexed,” it confirms that Google has found and crawled them — likely through internal links — and not via the sitemap alone. This means Rank Math is working as expected in making the URLs discoverable.

Please note that the sitemap is just a backup crawling mechanism.

At this point, indexing is entirely at Google’s discretion. We recommend continuing to improve content depth, maintain consistent publishing, and build authoritative backlinks to signal value to Google. While there’s no guaranteed timeframe, persistence and quality usually pay off.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.

    Hi ,

Thank you so much for your guidance and support. I’m happy to share that my website URLs have started indexing on Google.

I just had one more question – approximately how long does it usually take for keywords to start ranking on Google after indexing begins?

    Looking forward to your insights!

    Hello,

We understand that it’s important for your website to appear in search results for specific terms. To achieve this, it’s essential to optimise your content around those terms or keywords, such that when search engines index the page or your website, you’d be able to rank for the keywords.

Google’s algorithm controls the results in Google’s search results pages, and it is up to Google to show your content for the desired keyword when searched. However, Rank Math ensures that your website is indexed and available for search engines to display in search engine result pages.

You can learn more about the key factors that help determine which results are returned for a search query from this Google article: https://www.google.com/search/howsearchworks/how-search-works/ranking-results/

We hope that helps. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
