Cannot connect to Google - Support

I have been trying for weeks. I have tried every suggestion I can find on Google, in threads, and in all the Rank Math documentation.

I am a former web developer and student data relational database manager. I have verified and un-verified my property in Google Search Console multiple times. I have set up the property as a domain and a URL prefix property, both with http and https.

I have revoked all Google permissions, cleared caches, used incognito mode, removed all other plugins, used different browsers, and nothing will allow the connection. I click the big blue CONNECT button under the Setup Wizard, nothing. I paste the meta tag info, go to Analytics, click the big blue button there, nothing. Screen just comes back to the blue button over and over and over. Never connects.

I have no idea what else to try. I about 7-8 hours in and no longer think this is worth it. I will just use the built-in Monster Insights option. It connects flawlessly every time. I have managed a lot of software in my time in a school system technology department, and this is right up there with the most frustrating I have had to endure.

In this case, please check if there’s some security rule inside your .htaccess file that may prevent saving the settings.

You can also use the default .htaccess file from here: https://wordpress.org/support/article/htaccess/

Please do take a complete backup of your website before modifying your .htaccess as it is a sensitive file.

You may also check if your website has the ModSec (ModSecurity) feature enabled on your server, as it can block some processes on your site.
